Chicago Fire scores rights deal with Time Warner Cable Sports

Major League Soccer club the Chicago Fire has signed a rights deal with cable-television operator Time Warner Cable Sports covering the Wisconsin region.

The agreement will run through the 2014 season and makes Time Warner Cable SportsChannel the ‘Wisconsin television home of the Chicago Fire’.

Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will televise the Fire’s four remaining local telecasts through the end of the season, excluding national broadcast games, and all regionally telecast games next season.

“The ability to reach new audiences via our broadcast platform is essential for growing awareness of the Fire,” said Chicago Fire chief operating officer Atul Khosla. “The partnership with Time Warner Cable Sports, in addition to our youth expansion into Wisconsin is an important next step in growing the Fire base in and around Chicagoland.”
