The Canadian Hockey League, which operates ice hockey competitions in the country, has entered into a partnership with digital sports news agency SendtoNews.
SendtoNews will be responsible for distributing CHL-produced media content featuring action from the Western Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The agreement will cover the remainder of the 2015-16 CHL season, as well as the 2016-17 and 2017-18 campaigns.
SendtoNews will distribute nightly highlights packages from the three aforementioned leagues through its News Partnership Network. The network will also showcase weekly highlights packages and special features.
In total, more than 2,000 highlights packages will be produced during the 2015-16 CHL regular season and play-offs. In addition, SendtoNews will immediately distribute pre- and post-game content from the Canada-Russia Series, the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and the Memorial Cup events, of which the agency will also provide in-game coverage.
Paul Krotz, the CHL’s director of communications, said: “SendtoNews provides the CHL with the opportunity to immediately share our video content with a wide variety of news sources connecting avid and casual CHL fans across Canada and the United States with exciting CHL action.”
