Combate Americas lands AXS TV and Fight Network rights deals

Hispanic mixed martial arts promotion Combate Americas has agreed English-language rights deals in the US and Canada with pay-television broadcasters AXS TV and Fight Network.

Under the exclusive agreements, AXS TV and FN will air a minimum of 35 live Combate Americas events in 2020, which will also be broadcast globally via Fight Network’s international feeds.

Along with the live events, AXS TV and Fight Network will air ‘Best of Combate Americas’ programs, and will develop and co-produce episodes of FN Studios’ ‘Diary,’ ‘Retrospective’ and ‘After The Fight’ series based on the Combate Americas fighter roster.

Combate Americas was founded in 2011. In April, businesswoman Kate Del Castillo joined the company, investing as part of a $20m (€18m) equity infusion from a group of investors that also included finance and sports industry leader Joe Plumeri, Ambassador Cliff Sobel and Irving Place Capital chief executive John Howard. Del Castillo chairs Combate Americas’ advisory board.
