US media company Comcast, the country’s largest cable-television operator, is set to strike a carriage deal for SEC Network, a pay-television sports channel dedicated to college sport’s Southeastern Conference.
Comcast spokesperson John Demming said that the two parties are “working out final details” of the deal and told the Outkick news service: “We expect to come to an agreement in the near future.”
SEC Network will be launched by US pay-television broadcaster ESPN on August 14.
So far the Dish Network, AT&T Uverse and Google Fiber subscription platforms have agreed carriage deals for the channel.
