Germany’s Franz Reindl, one of five candidates vying to succeed René Fasel as the president of the International Ice Hockey Federation, has targeted higher commercial revenues from the sport’s lower-tier and youth events as part of his campaign manifesto laid out this week.
Speaking to SportBusiness, Reindl, the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) president, also said that a “long-term” solution is needed to ice hockey’s perennial issue of the National Hockey League players’ involvement at the Winter Olympics.
