The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) has shortlisted four entities in its search for a new partner agency for the commercialisation of its club and national team competitions.
Following the launch of an invitation to tender on July 3, Conmebol last month announced that 10 entities had made an initial shortlist for the contract.
The tender represents the first time the continental governing body has engaged in such a process and Conmebol has now said Sport Promotions, MP & Silva, PIMGSA (Perform Investment and Trans World International) and Synergy Football (Synergy Sports and Infront Sports & Media) will contest the final stages of the contest.
The winning agency will support the commercial assets related to the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana club competitions, as well as national team event the Copa America, from 2019 to 2022.
Conmebol said the services to be contracted include analysing competition formats, formulating a strategy for packaging commercial rights, drawing up a structured bidding process for these rights, commercialising the rights, the formulation of an after-sales service for rights holders and advice on broadcast production.
A Conmebol evaluation team will now analyse the offers at a meeting scheduled for September 26. Once the winning agency has been chosen, it will begin to work closely with Conmebol and other stakeholders in the formation of a marketing programme that is expected to be ready for the first half of 2018.
