Campeonato Brasileiro Série A team Corinthians has become the latest football club to launch an official account on short-form video platform TikTok.
To mark its launch on the platform, Corinthians created a special sticker to allow fans to express their support for the club.
The club has also uploaded content relating to its women’s team’s recent win against Ferroviária in the final of the Copa Libertadores.
TikTok will invite three to five creators to manage Corinthians’ account during matches before the end of the year. Corinthians said it would continue uploading “fun” content on its account, including game highlights and behind-the-scenes clips.
Other clubs to have launched on TikTok include English Premier League team Liverpool, Spanish LaLiga outfits Barcelona and Real Madrid, and Major League Soccer franchise Los Angeles FC.
TikTok was launched in 2017 by Chinese technology company ByteDance as its short-form video content app for international markets. The company was this year represented at the Sportel trade fair for the first time with former NBA executive Harish Sarma, the recently-appointed head of global strategic partnership, in attendance.
