A court has upheld an appeal from Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV2 in a dispute with Viaplay Group over the former’s use of clips from the English Premier League.
In September, Viaplay, the Premier League rights-holder in the Nordics, commenced legal action against TV2 over the matter. Viaplay acquired exclusive rights to the Premier League in Norway as part of a landmark six-season deal in the Nordics which runs from 2022-23 to 2027-28.
