DailyMotion agrees Red Bull rights deal

DailyMotion has agreed a deal that will allow the video-sharing website to show World of Red Bull action and adventure sports events.

DailyMotion struck the deal with Red Bull Media House, the media production arm of the drinks manufacturer.

The length of the agreement, which starts tomorrow with coverage of the Red Bull Skylines BMX cycling event, was not revealed.

The website will show ‘short-form’ content with a “view to establish more unique live and one-off events such as Red Bull Skylines [a BMX competition],” DailyMotion said.

Harriet Fuest, UK content manager at DailyMotion, said: “Red Bull’s brand is synonymous with high adrenalin, exciting and extreme sports – from their Formula One team to the recent world record sky dive. At DailyMotion we already show a wealth of high octane and unique sports, such as Ultimate Fighting Championships, chess boxing and the Le Mans 24 hour. The partnership with Red Bull Media House will add to this library and bring even more variety to viewers who watch two billion of our videos a month.”
