DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform, has bolstered its rights offering for its new service in Canada by striking a content partnership with pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports.
DAZN launched in the Canadian market last week. Under the agreement with beIN, DAZN’s subscribers will have access to beIN Sports’ exclusive slate of top European football matches – live and on-demand.
This includes the Spanish LaLiga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A, plus live coverage of the Uefa Champions League, Europa League and Fifa World Cup qualifiers. In addition, DAZN subscribers will receive Pro14, the European rugby union club competition which has expanded for 2017-18 with the addition of former South African Super Rugby franchises the Cheetahs and Southern Kings, as well as coverage of motorcycling series MotoGP.
DAZN has also secured deals to bring coverage of the English Football League and EFL Cup, as well as extensive tennis coverage from the women’s WTA Tour and men’s ATP 250 events. DAZN will also be the home of all live PDC darts events, as well as ice hockey competition the Kontinental Hockey League.
DAZN earlier announced its launch in Canada by stating it would be the exclusive home of the NFL American football league’s Game Pass digital subscription package.
James Rushton, chief executive of DAZN, said: “Super fans want access to multiple sports and that’s why we have made it a priority to expand our offerings in Canada on day one, and we will continue to do so over the coming months.”
DAZN continues to offer monthly and annual subscriptions, with one month free. Subscriptions are available at C$20 (€14/$16) per month or at an introductory offer of C$150 annually.
