Direct-to-home and IPTV platform Digi has extended its rights in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for LaLiga, the top division of Spanish club football.
The new deal will run across the three seasons spanning 2018-19 to 2020-21. The agreement has been signed after LaLiga reclaimed its rights in a series of Eastern European countries from the troubled MP & Silva agency in an effort to re-tender them.
MP & Silva acquired LaLiga rights in February in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, along with Albania, Bulgaria and Kosovo. These were reclaimed by the league and are being resold in each market by the Mediapro agency, which distributes the league’s international rights.
Digi has also confirmed it has renewed its contract for the German Bundesliga, also for the next three seasons.
