Discovery has said it “remains resolute” in its defence of its Polish business interests after the lower house of the country’s parliament (Sejm) passed a bill which could force the US media group to give up its holdings.
Polish lawmakers yesterday (Wednesday) voted 228 to 216 to pass the bill, entitled ‘Lex TVN’, with 10 abstentions. Lex TVN would necessitate all licensed distributors of radio and television services in Poland to be based in the European Economic Area (EEA) and not be dependent on any entity based outside the EEA.
