The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the International Ski Federation (FIS) have extended a media-rights deal for the FIS Ski Flying World Championships.
The renewal will cover the next two editions of the championships, in 2022 and 2024.
The agreement will ensure extensive free-to-air coverage of the event across EBU members’ channels.
Under the agreement, the EBU will work with the FIS to distribute the rights and produce the coverage, including live streaming of the competition.
The new partnership will also focus on enhancing the digital exploitation of events across the FIS’s platforms and “facilitating the usage of near-to-live clips by athletes, sponsors and organisers on social media”.
The 2022 event will take place in Vikersund, Norway, before the host of the 2024 edition will be announced in two years’ time.
