Irish pay-television broadcaster Eir Sport has acquired rights for this year’s US PGA Championship golf tournament.
Eir Sport will broadcast live coverage of all four days of the event, which runs from August 10-13 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
UK pay-television broadcaster Sky had previously shown coverage of the event in Ireland as well as the UK, but its 10-year rights contract with the PGA of America expired earlier this year.
The BBC has also picked up rights to this year’s tournament, but according to news website the 42, the UK public-service broadcaster will show just 365 minutes of coverage.
The majority of this coverage will be shown via the BBC’s Red Button digital service.
