The Movistar Plus pay-television platform of Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica will make tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) LaLiga football clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona the first sporting event in Spain to be provided live in ultra high definition.
Saturday’s El Clasico will be provided in the 4K format to customers of the Movistar Plus fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service. Football fans will also need to own a Samsung Ultra HD smart television that supports the Movistar Plus Ready service.
In addition to this initiative, Movistar Plus will also provide 4K showcases of the game to media and customers at the Telefónica FlagShip Madrid and Flagship Movistar Barcelona sites, where El Clasico will be screened on 78 inch televisions.
