International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has acquired rights in Portugal to Ligue 1, the top division of French club football.
The three-season deal, which runs from 2018-19 to 2020-21, also includes rights to the Coupe de la Ligue and Trophee des Champions, the annual match between the champions of Ligue 1 and the winners of the Coupe de France.
Eleven confirmed Portugal as its 10th market last month with the acquisition of rights to club football competitions the Uefa Champions League and Spain’s LaLiga.
The exclusive agreements also start from the beginning of the 2018-19 season and will run for three years until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
Danny Menken, group managing director of Eleven Sports, said the broadcaster is planning further “premium rights” announcements soon.
