International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network has broadened its reach in Poland by signing a clips agreement with media company Grupa WP and a carriage deal with telecommunications firm UPC Polska.
The former agreement ensures content from the Eleven and Eleven Sports channels will be offered via Grupa WP’s desktop and mobile services.
Eleven Sports Network will provide clips from top international sporting events, including football from the English Football League, League Cup and FA Cup, Spanish Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, Scottish Professional Football League and Belgian Pro League.
Other sports, including basketball from the Italian Lega Basket Serie A and tennis from the ATP World Tour 250 series, will also be made available.
Dariusz Górzny, sports department director for Grupa WP, said: “The gap between TV and internet broadcasters is ever narrowing and collaboration with Eleven is testament to this.”
Meanwhile, Eleven Sports Network and UPC Polska have signed a distribution agreement to broadcast the HD channels, Eleven and Eleven Sports, on the largest cable operator in Poland.
Eleven and Eleven Sports will be made available on UPC Polska to subscribers of its Select and Max packages from today (Thursday) for a one-month promotional viewing period.
After this, football-dedicated Eleven and multi-sport channel Eleven Sports will be sold together as a standalone option.
Terms of both deals were not disclosed.
