International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has acquired rights in the United States for select events from cycling’s 2017 Ciclismo Cup.
The competition is a series of races from the International Cycling Union (UCI) road calendar that feature some of the world’s top professional cyclists competing for WorldTour teams.
Eleven Sports will run 90 minutes of live coverage per day across six races of the Ciclismo Cup in addition to pre-existing cycling content.
The agreement will commence with the Tour of the Alps, which runs from April 17-21, and also includes the Coppa Agostoni, Coppa Bernocchi, Giro dell’Emilia, Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli and Tre Valli Varesine.
In a move to break into the US market, Eleven Sports last month acquired “certain distribution assets” of troubled broadcaster One World Sports.
