Eredivisie Media and Marketing (EMM), which is controlled by the Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox, has agreed a rights deal with the Dutch Football Association (KNVB).
Under the four-year deal, from 2014-15 to 2017-18, digital general entertainment channel Fox will show all friendly matches featuring the Netherlands senior national team.
Pay-television channel Fox Sports will broadcast all home tournament qualifiers and friendly matches played by the U-21 team.
Highlights of domestic club cup competition the KNVB Beker will be broadcast by Fox, along with live coverage of the semi-finals and final of the annual tournament. Fox Sports will show up to six games per round from the second round of the competition.
Season-opening event the Johan Cruijff Schaal, played between the winner of the Eredivisie and KNVB Beker, will also be broadcast by Fox for the next four years.
In addition, the KNVB and EMM said they are working on an agreement for Fox Sports to show all games featuring the Netherlands national women’s team.
