ESPN and SPN launch new digital platform in India

Pay-television sports broadcaster ESPN and Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), formerly known as Multi Screen Media, have launched a new mobile-first, multi-sport digital offering in India.

The new ESPN.in website and regional ESPN application will offer various pieces of video content through rights held by Sony LIV, SPN’s digital streaming platform, and SPN’s new Sony ESPN sports channels, which launched in January.

Live event coverage will include this summer’s Uefa Euro 2016 national team football tournament, in addition to match clips and other content that will be jointly developed by SPN and ESPN.

Users can also access new and archive video content, such as interviews and highlights across other sports, including badminton, Formula One motor-racing, hockey, kabaddi and tennis.
