The ESPN International division of sports broadcaster ESPN has agreed a five-season extension to its Brazilian rights deal for the top two divisions of Spanish football.
The agreement, brokered by the Mediapro agency, includes rights to La Liga and the Segunda División and runs from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
The deal includes exclusive television and internet rights for all Liga and second-tier matches, along with the annual promotion and relegation play-off games.
ESPN Brasil’s coverage of La Liga and the Segunda División will be shown across a variety of platforms, including television networks ESPN, ESPN Plus and ESPN Brasil.
WatchESPN, ESPN Brasil’s broadband network, and national digital platforms ESPN.com.br and ESPN Sync, its second screen app, will also offer extensive coverage each season.
