Euroleague seeks to broaden exposure with IMG assistance

The IMG Media agency has agreed a long-term consultancy deal with Euroleague Basketball to market the rights to the continental club competition across a number of markets.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but IMG said that it would work with the Euroleague initially to secure broadcast deals in the Flemish part of Belgium as well as Africa and the UK from the 2013-14 season and the Asian-Pacific region from 2014-15.

Jordi Bertomeu, president and chief executive of Euroleague Basketball, said: “IMG's philosophy perfectly fits with Euroleague’s strategy for the next years. I am confident this deal will help us reach our goals, taking the league to the next level, both sports wise and commercially.”
