A new channel dedicated to coverage of Lega Serie B, the second tier of football in Italy, is to be launched on Italian digital-terrestrial pay-television platform Europa 7 later this month.
The agreement between Europa 7 and Lega Serie B will run for three seasons, from 2012-13 to 2014-15, according to Italian media reports.
The channel will show live coverage of Saturday afternoon matches as well as magazine programming and highlights.
In the 2012-13 to 2014-15 cycle, Mediaset Premium has acquired digital terrestrial rights for up to two live Serie B games per week, on Friday and Monday evenings, and pay-television rival Sky Italia has acquired satellite rights for all Serie B games.
The new channel will show all matches except those broadcast by Mediaset Premium.
