International sports broadcaster Eurosport has enhanced its partnership with World Snooker by agreeing a deal to televise the upcoming Shanghai Masters event.
The event will take place from November 13-18 at the Shanghai Indoor Stadium and will feature players such as Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins, Mark Selby, Judd Trump and defending champion Ding Junhui (pictured).
Eurosport will broadcast the event via its television channels and through the Eurosport Player on-demand digital service across 54 countries and territories. The event will be shown in the UK by free-to-air DTT channel Quest.
This year’s Shanghai Masters will serve as a world ranking event and feature a prize fund of £700,000 (€789,000/$916,000).
In April 2016, Eurosport signed a 10-year extension to its rights agreement to show 18 tournaments of the World Snooker Tour. The agreement with World Snooker and the IMG agency runs until the end of the 2025-26 season.
