Eurosport Asia-Pacific snaps up Euroleague rights

Pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport Asia-Pacific has acquired rights for the Euroleague, the pan-European club basketball competition, in a two-year deal, from 2012-13 to 2013-14.

Under the deal, the broadcaster will show the ‘Game of the Week’ plus two more games live per week during the regular season.

The rights are exclusive in 15 territories and non-exclusive in Hong Kong and the Philippines.

The territories covered by exclusive rights are: Australia, South Korea, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.

The broadcaster acquired the rights from the IEC in Sports agency, which brokered the deal on behalf of Euroleague Basketball, the tournament’s operator.

The deal includes internet and mobile rights.
