Eurosport France, the French arm of pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport, has extended its rights deal for the Tour de France through 2020 in a five-year agreement struck with the cycling race’s organiser Amaury Sports Organisation.
The new contract concerns rights in France from 2016 to 2020 and includes seven other major cycling events organised by ASO.
They are the Paris-Roubaix, Paris-Nice, Paris-Tours, Critérium International, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, La Flèche Wallonne and Critérium du Dauphiné.
In addition, the deal also includes rights to the Dakar Rally motor-racing event and the Paris Marathon, which are also organised by ASO.
In April 2013, public-service broadcaster France Télévisions also retained rights for the Tour de France and ASO’s associated events in a five-year deal from 2016 to 2020.
