Eurosport pounces for Fifa rights

Pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport has acquired rights for a series of tournaments operated by football’s global governing body Fifa, including the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada.

Under the agreement, Eurosport will show live television and digital coverage of a total of nine Fifa tournaments in 2015 and 2016.

The rights include the men’s and women’s U-17 and U-20 World Cups, the Beach Soccer World Cup, the Futsal World Cup and the Blue Stars/Youth Cup.

The deal covers all European territories, excluding Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland for the 2015 Women’s World Cup.
