Eurosport renews World Superbike Championship deal

Pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport has renewed a rights deal for coverage of the World Superbike Championship motorcycling series for three years, from 2013 to 2015.

Eurosport will provide exclusive live coverage via television, online and mobile platforms in 59 European territories, including exclusive coverage in the UK, Ireland, Germany and France.

Eurosport will show live or delayed coverage of every round of the three competitions within the championship – World Superbike, World Supersport and the Superstock 1,000 Cup – on its main channel or Eurosport 2.

The broadcaster will also exploit the rights via its Eurosport Player online and mobile streaming service.

Eurosport agreed the deal with the Infront Sports & Media agency, the championship’s media rights distribution partner.

“Eurosport has been a long-term partner of World Superbike since 1998,” Eurosport director Julien Bergeaud said. “With extensive coverage on television, internet and mobile of the three championships, plus exclusivities in key markets such as UK, Germany and France, Eurosport brings unrivalled broadcast to superbike fans in Europe and consolidates its motorsports offer.”
