EXCLUSIVE: Digi wins Premier League rights in Hungary

Pay-television broadcaster Digi is understood to have won the rights in Hungary for the English Premier League in 2013-14 to 2015-16.

The Premier League is currently selling its rights for the three seasons in markets across Europe. Further deals are expected to be announced this week.

Digi has the rights in Hungary in the current cycle, 2010-11 to 2012-13, under a deal with the Important Media House agency.

Digi is owned by RCS-RDS, which operates television channels and platforms throughout South Eastern Europe. It runs Digi-branded pay-television platforms in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia and Romania, as well as Hungary.
