The Multimedia Sports agency (MMS) is understood to have acquired the media rights in Romania for English Premier League football in 2013-14 to 2015-16.
The company beat several other bidders, including leading Romanian pay-television broadcasters RCS-RDS and Romtelecom, to acquire the rights.
MMS is a Spain-based agency that has previously sold Premier League rights in Spain, in the 2007-08 to 2009-10 cycle; Portugal, in 2004-05 to 2006-07; and Turkey, in 2004-05 to 2006-07. The company also organises and sells media rights for national team and club friendlies.
The deal followed other agreements for Premier League rights announced in the last 24 hours in Poland, with pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus Cyfrowy, and in Bulgaria, with pan-regional media company Modern Times Group.
Canal Plus Cyfrowy will exploit the rights on NC Plus, the new pay-television platform formed through the merger last year of pay-television operators Cyfra Plus, which was owned by Canal Plus Cyfrowy, and N.
Modern Times Group will exploit the rights via its Nova Broadcasting Group channels in Bulgaria.
The deals cover exclusive audiovisual rights to all 380 games per season for three years, from 2013-14 to 2015-16.
