Fijian commercial broadcaster FBC has acquired rights to the 2015-16 season of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
FBC showed the national team rugby union series for the first time last season and chief financial officer Vimlesh Sagar said the response from viewers has prompted it to sign a new deal for 2015-16.
“Looking at last year, we had a successful year,” Sagar said. “This year we have taken the initiative to bring the coverage live once again and this has been made possible by all the sponsors that came on board last year and assisted us to get the event live so once again we request all the sponsors to come forward and help us to achieve our objective.”
The first leg of the 10-round 2015-16 World Rugby Sevens Series takes place in Dubai on December 4-5. Fiji is the reigning champion.
