MLS expansion side FC Cincinnati have signed a two-year local broadcast deal with Sinclair Broadcasting Group’s WSTR Star 64. The channel served as the team’s Official Broadcast Partner in the USL from 2016 to 2018.
The new partnership will see WSTR carry all of FC Cincinnati’s games that are not nationally-televised, but also extends the broadcast window to two-and-a-half hour windows to accommodate a 30-minute post-game show during each telecast.
FC Cincinnati president and general manager, Jeff Berding, said: “We have a diverse fan base and a traditional, over-the-air channel is the most accessible means for the vast majority of our fans to follow our club. In addition, WSTR’s commitment to carry a 30-minute postgame show demonstrates the station’s pledge to help us educate and grow the region’s soccer culture. We couldn’t be more pleased to remain with WSTR for the next two years.”
