The Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox is to simulcast coverage of the German Bundesliga football match between Bayern Munich and Hamburg to regions across the world in a move described by the company as a “global first.”
FIC will broadcast the match to audiences in North and South America as well as in Asia and in the Netherlands and Italy.
Viewers in Latin America can access coverage via the Fox Sports, Fox, FX, Film Zone and Cinecanal channels. Fox and FX will show coverage of the game in Brazil.
FIC will also broadcast the match via the various Fox channels in Asia, while Fox Netherlands and Fox Italy will broadcast the game in their respective countries.
In the US, coverage will be available via the Fox Sports Regional Networks as well as on Fox Sports 2, the FoxSports.com website and Fox Sports channel on video-sharing website YouTube.
The match, which takes place on August 14, signals the start of a partnership between the Bundesliga and international pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports.
The partnership comprises a five-year term, from 2015-16 to 2019-20, in Asia, Latin America the US, as well as a two-year term, from 2016-15 to 2016-17, in the Netherlands and Italy.
The deal covers all 306 Bundesliga matches each season, as well as the German Supercup and the Bundesliga relegation play-offs.
