The Fight Sports pay-television channel will launch in Germany this October.
In confirming the news, Richard Miele – the chief executive of the CSI Sports media company, which owns Fight Sports – did not elaborate on details regarding distribution of the channel.
“Germany is a key territory for CSI Sports because boxing is very popular in the country and regularly receives significant ratings on Friday even when it’s not the Klitschkos fighting,” Miele told the Broadband TV News website.
The launch comes shortly after Fight Sports secured a multi-year agreement with promoter Dynasty Boxing to broadcast fights featuring Chinese star Zhang Zhilei on an exclusive basis.
