Fijian commercial broadcaster Fiji TV has agreed a three-year deal with English Premier League football team Manchester United to carry coverage from the club’s in-house MUTV channel.
The broadcaster will screen programming from the channel that includes behind-the-scenes documentaries, player interviews and delayed coverage of all United’s games.
Viewers in 21 countries across the South Pacific region will be able to access the exclusive footage.
Territories covered include Fiji, Cook Islands, Kiribati Islands, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, North Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna Islands, American Samoa and Guam.
In addition, Fiji TV will also air delayed coverage of United’s fellow EPL side Chelsea after it struck a deal with programme rights holder the IMG Media agency, according to the Fiji Times newspaper.
The agreement covers delayed coverage of all Chelsea games in the EPL, Uefa Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup competitions over the next three seasons.
