FIS launches tender for Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships

The Fédération Internationale de Ski, the international skiing federation, launched a tender for the media rights for the 2015 and 2017 Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships.

Interested parties have until April 20 to submit expressions of interest. The federation said it wanted to reach “as many markets as possible.”

The governing body added: “The intention of the FIS is to increase the exposure in those countries where its championships have been shown and to introduce coverage into new markets. The advances in technology and the related opportunities to exploit new means of distribution to the viewing public are to be considered and developed in the exploitation of the rights to achieve the goals of the FIS.”

The 2015 championships will take place in Kreischberg, Austria, from January 16-25. The host city of the 2017 event will be announced in June.
