The Fox Sports division of US network Fox has expanded a rights deal for coverage of the Bundesliga, the top division of football in Germany.
From January 30, Fox Sports will show live coverage of eight additional games from the Bundesliga on Saturdays through to the end of the 2015-16 season.
The additional matches to be covered will be determined at a later date.
Coverage of Bundesliga games is shown via the FS1, FS2 and Fox Soccer Plus channels, as well as the Fox network. The Fox Deportes Spanish-language channel is also broadcasting 105 matches per season.
“In order to maximise exposure for the league, its stars and quality of play, we’ve worked with our stations and affiliates to identify as many broadcast opportunities as possible,” David Nathanson, Fox Sports’ head of business operations, said. “We see the league having tremendous growth potential in the US, and we’re committed to that goal long-term.”
Every game broadcast on Fox, FS1 or FS2 is streamed live via FoxSoccer.com, FoxSportsGo.com as well as the Fox Sports Go mobile app. All Fox Soccer Plus matches are streamed on the Fox Soccer 2 Go app.
