International pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has acquired rights for the Ski Classics series of long-distance events.
The rights will cover Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malta and Turkey.
The length of the deal was not disclosed, but Ski Classics chief executive David Nilsson said that he hoped the partnership could be extended in the future.
The Ski Classics championship comprises 10 races of at least 35 kilometres, with professional athletes joined by about 50,000 amateur skiers. The 2015-16 series began in December and will conclude in April, with events taking place in Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
