US broadcaster Fox Sports has acquired rights for the 2015 edition of pre-season club football competition International Champions Cup North America.
The third year of the tournament will take place from July 11 to August 5. Official network partner Fox Sports will televise all of the competition’s 17 matches live on Fox, Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2.
The 10 competing teams for this year’s tournament were announced yesterday (Wednesday). They are: English Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea; Spanish Liga team Barcelona; French Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint-Germain; Italian Serie A club Fiorentina; Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit FC Porto; and Major League Soccer franchises New York Red Bulls, Los Angeles Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes.
Tournament organisers Relevent Sports said further international media rights deals will be announced over the coming weeks. United is the competition’s defending champion.
