The Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox has not yet agreed carriage deals with Dutch pay-television operators for its Fox Sports Eredivisie pay-television channel just days ahead of the start of the 2013-14 season of the top football division in the Netherlands, according to the AD.nl website.
Fox Sports spokesman Maarten van Rooijen said: “To date there is no company with an agreement.”
Talks with pay-television operators are understood to have continued through the summer.
According to the report, the operators have complained that subscription rates for Fox Sports Eredivisie and the Fox Sports International channels have not been determined yet.
Ronald Sutmuller, a spokesman for cable-television provider UPC, said: “There are as yet no official rates fixed. How can you enter into a contract?”
Eredivisie Live has been rebranded as Fox Sports Eredivisie after Fox last year acquired a 51-per-cent stake in Eredivisie Media and Marketing, the media company that owns rights for the Eredivisie and controls Eredivisie Live.
Through the 12-year agreement, spanning 2013-14 to 2024-25, Fox controls the live and highlights rights to the Eredivisie.
The 2013-14 Eredivisie season is due to commence on August 2 as reigning champion Ajax takes on Roda JC.
