French public-service broadcaster France Télévisions acquired rights for the domestic football league cup, the Coupe de la Ligue, in a four-year deal, from 2012-13 to 2015-16.
France Télévisions, which is the incumbent rights-holder in a three-year deal from 2009-10 to 2011-12, beat a rival bid from pay-television operator Canal Plus. France Télévisions is thought to have bid at least the same as it pays in the current deal – €10.5m ($13.3 million) per year. Canal Plus was reported to have offered €15 million per year.
