The G-30, a group of Spanish football clubs which sell their media rights jointly, are claiming €21 million ($27 million) from Real Mallorca, one of their members, in the Spanish Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The clubs are taking the action because Mallorca broke away from the group to unilaterally sign an individual media rights deal with the Prisa media group for the seasons 2012-13 to 2014-15. The G30 has a deal with the Mediapro agency covering the same period.
The lawsuit was filed on October 2.
The G-30 is made of up 26 clubs, six from Spain’s top division and 20 from the second tier.
