Channel 4 has hit out at the UK Government’s decision to press ahead with plans to privatise the commercial broadcaster.
Channel 4, which has been steadily building its presence in the sports rights market of late, was founded by Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government in 1982. While the broadcaster is publicly owned, it is funded through advertising revenue.
