The International Cricket Council will make television umpire communication during the knockout stages of the ongoing World Cup national team tournament available to host broadcaster, pay-television broadcaster Star Sports.
Discussions between the on-field officials and the third umpire when adjudicating on umpire referrals, consultation and decision review system (DRS) player reviews will feature as part of global television coverage of the event, which is taking place in Australia and New Zealand.
The ICC trialled the initiative during the one-day international series between Australia and South Africa last November and it will now feature for the final seven matches of the World Cup.
South Africa meets Sri Lanka in Sydney on Wednesday in the first quarter-final, while the tournament concludes with the final at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, March 29.
