The IMG College division of the IMG agency has agreed a multimedia rights deal with the Abilene Christian University in the United States.
The 10-year deal begins on July 1 and will run through until the 2025-26 season.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but ACU’s director of athletics, Lee De León, said the deal would more than double the college’s projected revenues in 2017-18.
The deal grants IMG exclusive worldwide rights to all multimedia sports marketing, promotional and commercial rights available in and around ACU’s athletics program.
Rights include audio distribution, video distribution, print, signage, internet and digital, audio and video streaming subscriptions, social, game entitlements, corporate hospitality, and advertising and sponsorship opportunities. ACU also signed a deal with IMG College’s seating group.
The 2017-18 athletics year will mark ACU’s first season as a fully-fledged Division 1 affiliate of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
ACU joins a group of more than 80 colleges and universities that are associated with IMG.
