Gianni Infantino, the general secretary of football’s European governing body Uefa, has been appointed to Team Marketing’s board of directors, according to the agency’s owner, media company Highlight Communications.
Infantino will succeed David Taylor, who died in June.
Team Marketing has distribution rights for Uefa’s top club competitions, the Champions League and Europa League, through to the end of the 2017-18 season.
Highlight also confirmed that Bernhard Burgener would continue to serve as the chairman of the board at Team Marketing, with Michael van Praag serving as a board member and Martin Wagner working as a delegate of the board.
Wagner, as well as Uefa marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein, Uefa chief counsel Simon Drake and Team chief executive Jamie Graham, will form the management committee of the board, which supervises Team Marketing.
