The Infront Sports & Media agency has opened an office in Singapore to house its new wholly-owned subsidiary in the Asia-Pacific region.
Headed by managing director Ian Mathie, Infront Pan-Asia will provide a hub to exploit the potential of sports marketing in the leading Asian economies outside mainland China, while also taking in Australia and New Zealand.
Mathie boasts 18 years of industry experience and was closely involved in football business across Asia-Pacific during his previous role as senior vice-president at the World Sport Group agency.
The new subsidiary will provide broadcasters and other media companies in the region with access to the Infront Group’s sports portfolio.
Additionally, a variety of sponsorship opportunities will allow Asian companies to exploit popular European and global sports platforms and Infront Pan-Asia will provide rights holders in the region with a range of services including an extensive distribution network, marketing expertise, media production capabilities, event management, hospitality solutions and venue advertising.
The Infront Group’s Chinese business will continue to be managed from Beijing and work in close collaboration with Infront Pan-Asia.
