UK commercial broadcaster ITV has signed an agreement with social video platform Grabyo to share match highlights and post-match commentary clips from its live television coverage of football’s 2014 Fifa World Cup across ITV.com and social networking services Facebook and Twitter.
According to The Drum.com, ITV will use the Grabyo platform to share content 'within seconds' of it happening on the live broadcast.
Content can be viewed immediately via a real-time gallery on the broadcaster’s official website or accessed via updates on Facebook and Twitter.
The video highlights will cover key moments from 34 matches, including the World Cup final on July 13.
Brands will also have the opportunity to sponsor the clips and extend distribution through promotional and campaign tools.
ITV Sport executive producer Ollie Irish said: “The partnership will allow us to enhance the viewer experience and drive conversation around this major TV event as well as offer compelling opportunities for our clients to connect with consumers as all the action unfolds.”
Last week, TV Sports Markets reported that the All England Lawn Tennis club had also agreed a deal to use Grabyo at the 2014 Wimbledon championships, to share highlights on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
