Liberty Media chairman John Malone is putting together a potential bid to purchase the Regional Sports Networks from 21st Century Fox according to a report on Fox Business.
According to the report Malone would structure his deal with additional financing from Platinum Equity and potentially other investors. Malone owns the Atlanta Braves while Platinum’s chairman Tom Gores owns the Detroit Pistons.
The RSNs are up for sale in order to give Disney, which is purchasing 21st Century Fox assets regulatory approval.
