Free-to-air broadcaster Chilevisión has struck a distribution deal with the Mediapro agency covering Chile’s national football team matches.
In August, Chilevisión acquired commercial and broadcast rights to the team’s qualifying campaign for the 2022 Fifa World Cup and friendly matches in a deal with the ANFP, the sport’s governing body in Chile.
Under the deal with Mediapro, Chilevisión and the agency will jointly manage the commercial and media rights for the games on an international basis.
Mediapro and Turner Chile – which operates Chilevisión – will be able to negotiate sublicensing rights deals for Chile national team games.
Mediapro is already responsible for marketing the international rights of LaLiga, the top division of football in Spain, as well as distributing platforms such as the F1 Channel in Latin America and the beIN LaLiga and beIN Sports channels in Spain.
